A record number of British women are buying Asian outfits for parties and social occasions.

According to a new survey by the website asiancommunity.net, more British women than ever before are snapping up traditional Asian outfits for parties and other social occasions.

In the survey, asiancommunity.net found that a growing number of women were looking to the East for inspiration because of the current popularity of ethnic designs and the wide range of styles and colours available.

Though many said they were inspired by such fashion icons as the late Diana, Princess of Wales, a significant percentage said part of the attraction was that the outfits were flattering for most people and you don't need a perfect figure to carry them off.
